AVATAR movie review

So Avatar came out this weekend in theaters all around the world. So my wife and I, accompanied with a group of friends went to go check it out. So how can I describe what I saw… if you’re a geek it was like watching Starwars for the first time and being totally lost in the world that was unfolding before your eyes. If your not a nerd remember when you watched The Karate Kid for the first time and Daniel son lands the crane kick into Johnny’s face and you want to jump out of your seat and hug every one around you as if it were you one who just molly woped Johnny. That’s what watching Avatar for the first time is like. It’s a truly amazing move. I know a lot of people who are complaining about the script and the dialog of the movie but I thought it was all very well done and if that’s a bad script writing or bad story telling what hope is there for a small filmmaker like me. James Cameron is at the top of his game. I have always been a Titanic fan and I have got a lot of criticism for being one for years but hey I think it’s a great movie and I am totally convinced that James Cameron is not only one of the greatest directors of all time but also one of the greatest story tellers of all time. The pacing of his movies are perfect you never feel like its time to move on because before you feel that way the movie already has done just that and your in a new experience. I’m not going to write any spoilers in the review I just want to encourage every one to see this movie. Don’t wait to see it on a DVD or Blu-ray because this movie needs to be seen on the big screen to take every thing in and that will probably take several viewings. I wish I could have been a part of this movie in some way because its that good but maybe I’ll have enough experience to be a part of James Cameron’s next movie because I know it will be ground breaking just like all his other movies. GO SEE THIS MOVIE

Shorts

Rating: ★★★★☆

So I heard and read a ton of bad things about this movie so I stayed away but the fact that it was a Robert Rodriguez movie kept making me want to see it. Finally The Robert Rodriguez fan that I am won over and I watched it and let me just say not bad. It’s a kids movie people watch it as f you were a kid. Being a dad I make it a duty in life to find great entertainment for my kid and thank God for Robert who not only can whip out a great horror flick like The Faculty or the last half of From Dusk Till Dawn but he can also make us Spy Kids and Shorts. Shorts is just a fun well shot kids adventure. If I were a kid and I wanted to make a movie it would probably look something like this. Its just pure fun check it out with your kids and have fun.

I really enjoyed this movie. It takes a while to get going but they are setting up story so it wont just be another mindless shootum up action movie. Liam Neeson plays his role well and most of all plays it beleaviable you never once think that ths guy couldnt do that. I realate the love this father has for his daughter the same as how much God loves us and would o every thing in his power o get us out of a teriable situation. Give it a shot.

This movie seemed a lot shorter then when I was a kid. I remember this movie and I remember getting werewolf makeup applied to me as a kid it took 3 hours and then I went to school and freaked every one out. good times. (nn)

Dead Snow

Any one who knows me knows that I have this crazy unquenchable lust for all things zombie. So when some one says to me you need to see Dead Snow its about Nazi zombies I’m there. 2 evils in one , Its to good to be true. Now I have seen a lot of really bad Zombie movies in my days and the description for this one cold easily fall into that category. Thankfully it doesn’t, I had a great time watching this movie it was well done, bloody and funny. There’s not much of a story here but not many in the genre do except for maybe Shaun of the dead and the first 3 Romero flicks (I know what your thinking but 28 days later is the rage virus) but it is a good time. Watch this movie to have fun don’t take it so seriously and you will enjoy it. I will definitely have it in my collection.

Danger: Diabolik

July 3, 2009

Before there were Marvel movies this was the best comic adaptation around. Talk about getting your moneys worth on a budget. Mario Bava was filled with little tricks to build a huge world with little money the man was a creative genius. Long before Austin Powers was making on the ladies, Diabolik was the [...]

Ok, so now I will finally write my review on this movie even though I saw it several days ago. Sense it seems no one is going to say it and I wonder if all the people who say they read the graphic novel really did, no one seems to mention the fact [...]
